WORDS OF LOVE...

<body>
Thursday, February 14, 2008

I was at the dentist when Jansen messaged me saying that he wasn't feeling that well. So I canceled my resevation at Shin Kushiya and decided to cook for Valentine's. I haven't cooked for humans for months!

Jansen wanted to eat Sukiyaki, also known as Gyu-nabe in the Edo Era, so Sukiyaki it is. Its a relatively simply dish. The main ingredient is simply beef. Raw egg is used in this dish as a light dipping sauce and a bowl of steam rice rounds out this meal. I didn't cook rice though, we're not much of a rice eater. Vegetables were supposed to be included BUT Jansen doesn't really like his greens. Im rather thankful to have a Japanese Mother (she was born in Taiwan though), or else I won't know how to cook. She taught me culinary skills but solely on Japanese food. I can't cook chinese food though.

Our little girl had her share of Valentine's Day dinner. I cooked steamed Salmon with egg, carrots and broccoli for her.

Ater dinner, we went back to the room and we got glued to the monitors. We played Granado Espada till 12 midnight -_-. I can't believe Im actually addicted to gaming.

Anyway, I need to go for an operation for my wisdom tooth, sighs I have two of them. My dentist calls them 'time bombs'. I want my friend's father to do it for me, he's an Orthodontist. I feel safe this way; someone I know is going to perform the surgery for me. Well now I just need to wait...Im not looking forward to it though.

Something to share for those who are interested. Its February 14 today, many people know that today is Valentine's Day. Majority would think that it a day for couples or a day to love your partner even more. Do you know the history of this day or what is this day actually about? Many of you wouldn't bother but Im still going to put it down.

There are varying reasons regarding the origins of Valentine's Day, however most experts state that it originated from St Valentine, a Roman who was put to death for his devotion to Christianity. Thus he died on February 14, 269 A.D., it was the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. It is also said that St Valentine left a farewell note to the jailer's daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it 'From Your Valentine'. In 469 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honor St Valentine. Gradually, February 14 became the date for exchanging love messages and St Valentine became the patron saint of lovers.

Jansen and I exchanged our girfts yesterday.

For Me to Him

From Him to Me

I bought him a phone because he needs a non camera phone to work and his current non camera phone is really faulty. He bought me a camera because a current Sony T50 vibrates everytime I try to take a photo and I lost the warranty. So I got him a Samsung F200 and he got me a Sony T70. We really think alike. Haha.

Im currently waiting for him to come home now and its off to dinner at Shin Kushiya. I'll upload pictures later, now I have to visit the dentist for my half-yearly check-up.

Lastly, Happy Valentine's Day to all.

One more thing, I GOT MYSELF ADDICTED TO GRANADO ESPADA. OMG. Sighs Jansen got me addicted to it!!! And I've spent like quite alot of money on that online game already!!! But its fun. =) At least now I can accompany him during gaming sessions at home and not just sit there and stone. Now there's more to do together.

The above collar is for my dearest Jannie. She grew out her Hamish Mcbeth one already. So we decided to get her a good one that will last her through for 14 years. Its from Coach, pretty isn't it? Its a gift from her Daddy.

The two devils woke up at 4am this morning to play. Jansen and I woke up as well due to the Jannie's growl. Jannie was a little grumpy today, my poor baby my be really exhausted but she had her share of fun. Angel and Benny came to pick Kaka up at 4 plus in the afternoon. Kaka was overjoyed. Jannie was somehow overprotective though, whenever Kaka went near Jansen for some attention, she'll growl and simply stand infront of Jansen. She must be saying, 'Daddy is MINE.' -_-. Anyway we loved the 2 days 1 night with Kaka. Im sure Jannie did too to an extent lol.

To end off, that was my favourite picture today, the two little imps were dozing off in the afternoon.

P.S. Angel!!! Kaka is so adorable!!! I'd love to have him over again. Jansen said i can like open a pet day care soon LOL. And ask Benny not to be so shy!!! He is welcome to join Jansen in gaming -_- since one is glued to his PSP and the other to his desktop.

My Niece Alouise and the two Westies

Nap Time

Dinner: Steamed Salmon and Vegetables with Stir-Fried Beef Tenderloin

They loved it

Chomp Chomp Chomp...

Bedtime
Kaka came over for Chinese New Year as Angel didn't want to leave him home alone while she goes visiting, so I volunteered to babysit Kaka for the first and second day of New Years. However, Jansen and I thought that it was better it Kaka slept over at our place for the first night rather than poor Angel travelling to and fro twice. So its Day 1 and the two little snowballs and fast asleep now after a day of non stop fun. You should see when both lil imps start to play, one can really sit and watch for hours. Anywaay, Angel is coming to pick Kaka before 6pm tomorrow. I bet Kaka misses his Mummy and Daddy dearly, but at least he now has Jannie to keep him company.

My Father turns 57 today, I bought him a Calvin Klein Polo this year. I love the material and the colour, something calm, it suits a retired man like him. I had Daddy issues with him last year but Im learning to have a bigger heart to forgive him, so I hope this year it would be a much better year for the both of us. Besides, for the past 20 years, my Father gave me anything and everything I want and need.
Daddy wasn't suppose to come back to Singapore though, he was suppose to stay in Manila to do his stuff but because my Granny fractured her hip and had a hip replacement, they had to come back to Singapore. In addition, she was due for her hospital checkup. And for those who are curious, my Father gave up his Singapore citizenship and migrated to the Philippines. So basically Im rather or actually I am alone in Singaore. I have no relatives here either.
Anyway after dinner at the Mouth Restaurant, Jansen and I headed to the streets of Chinatown to join the crowd. As always and expected, human traffic. But we just wanted to experience the same old familiar atmosphere of Chinese New Year. I felt contented. The only thing was, I was a little tired as I was giving tuition earlier in the day, trust me, teaching a Primary 1 is NOT EASY. I didn't get to eat my glutinous rice balls though. Jansen said we could go back tomorrow and join the countdown and I hope I can eat my rice balls. Well somehow I can't wait for Chinese New Year, Im going to babysit Angel's westie, Kaka and as usual I'll head over to Jansen's relative's place and also my Mother's friend's place on her behalf, since my dearest Mother is suffering in the cold in Tokyo. Its like 2 degrees Celsius over there. I hope to break thrend for my Chinese New Year, last time, Chinese New Year for me was CLUBBING, MOS MOS MOS MOS MOS. It was fun but I think I would like to relax this year.

I did not dye my dog pink, my dearest Jannie did this to herself while I was out buying dinner. How did she do it? She chewed on my pink pen and taadaa!!! Now I'll have to bathe her again...
Look at her innocent face, thinking that she can get away with it...

Chinese New Year is coming and I haven't done much preparations. My dearest mother flew off to Japan today for a business trip. My poor mother has been dreading this day for weeks and finally she's at Changi Airport waiting for her departure, this means Chinese New Year without Mummy. Sighs, I miss her dearly.

I need two sets of new clothes as Im going to Jansen's relatives' place for the New Year. So far I bought two skinny jeans from Pull and Bear, one which i cannot wear for Chinese New Year because its black and one shirt from TopShop. I have a reserved vest at TopShop which I have to collect tomorrow and maybe i'll get this dark green jacket as well from there. My dearest Jansen bought only one T-Shirt from Pull and Bear and he spent the rest of his money on a new motherboard which cost him 600 and another cooler. My beloved boyfriend is such a gadget lover. -_-

I have an appointment with my hair stylist on Monday to get my hair done and Im really glad that I met Wendy 7 years ago or else I have to pay her $75 just for a hair cut!!! I get special rates from her =) I love her so much, she's the sweetest hair stylist one can ever find, she actually rushed to the hotel where I was attending some wedding to pass me a shawl as dearest Jansen tore my dress that night. I simply love her so so much. I envy a friend of mine who gets everything free in Reds just because her cousin owns Reds!!! Haha but still i wouldn't trade Wendy for any other hair stylist =)

I also need to get my underarms waxed and I also need to go for browgraphy, after that I think i'll be all ready for the occasion.

Im also planning Jansen's and my best friend's birthday event. They both have the same birthdays, isn't that sweet? Danica and I would have to meet the Event Manager at OBar on the 19th of Feb. Sighs and each of us have to spend at least 5k each but somehow we think its worth it. Its her 21st and my Jansen's 23rd. We going to make it one hell of a blast.
